A research theme of our laboratory is how political actors use ICT (Information Communication Technology) in advanced information society. And We pay attention to the next three points; I) How does the modern government utilize ICT? II) How does the qualified voter collect political information? III) What is the disincentive of the promotion of e-government?
  After the Great East Japan Earthquake, our laboratory researches the election in the disaster-affected area.
  Some of the victim evacuate outside the local government, so it is not easy for them to gain political information, i.e. hometown of candidates, pledges of political parties, etc. In Japan, the candidate can do the online electoral campaign after the 2013 Upper House election at last. We will investigate whether this leads to improvement of the election environment of the victim.
  The maintenance of the vote environment is important there because the victim looks to the politician for help. So we think that the EMC (Election Management Committee) should apply ICT in the election administration for them.
