Mr.Takuya Yashima (Image Analysis Lab,M1) won the MIRU Yushu award in MIRU 2016
On Aug 3, 2016, Takuya Yashima, a master’s student of Image Analysis Lab, GSIS, won the MIRU Yushu award in MIRU 2016 for his research presentation ‘’Learning to Describe Product Images from Noisy Online Data.’’
MIRU is one of the largest domestic conference on image recognition and understanding in Japan. The MIRU Yushu award is given to one of the best oral presentations at MIRU. Takuya’s research is on learning and automatically generating appealing natural-language expressions from a product image in an online market, and he collaborated with Assoc. Prof. Naoaki Okazaki, Prof. Kentaro Inui, Asst. Prof. Kota Yamaguchi, and Prof. Takayuki Okatani.
